Itinerary

You will learn the a-z of flamenco, from the posture, the flamenca attitude, basic rhythms, important clappings, dance movements and key party steps. You’ll also learn a «remate», a rhythmical response to singing to really help you impress.

Your short dance fiesta routine includes:
A stylish entrance to the dance floor,
Steps and hand movements to make you look like a local,
The «remate»,
And, of course, the classy exit.

At a typical fiesta everyone takes it in turns to do a short dance routine. As they dance, others clap and encourage dancers with «jaleos» like “olé!”. To outsiders, this sounds like a heckling crowd but, really, it is the energy and beauty of flamenco – you’ll learn more!

There will be time to chat, ask any questions and we will send you what you have just learned: the basic steps, movements and routine.

For something extra, we will send a unique tutorial of the footwork techniques, «zapateos» , and two lists of our personal favourite music: traditional and modern flamenco.
