Bicycle route in the Sierra de la Norte

Sevilla Trip Overview

Here in Seville we have our own highlands known as the Sierra de la Norte and these hills are part of the mountain range called Sierra Morena that crosses from Portugal in the west to Jaén in the east. The Sierra Morena marks the boundary between Andalusia and the rest of Spain to the north.

If you have not had the experience of an Andalusian mountain range before, we recommend this greenway of the Sierra de la Norte for its impressive landscapes, its rural pastures, mountain rivers, forests and the traditional agriculture that is still practiced in these areas. We also recommend it because it’s easy! This greenway is very comfortable and accessible to everyone, regardless of their experience. And once again, we’ve thought about kids, and this route is a safe place to explore freely.

This old railway line goes to the mines at Cerro de Hierro, and here you will find an almost lunar rock formation that is sure to surprise. With its old tunnels and the mining town and ruined buildings associated with the mines, this route is an adventure. Also on the way you pass through the town of San Nicolás del Puerto, a small place that has a lot to visit such as the Nativity scene and waterfalls of the Hueznar river, the Roman bridge and the artificial beach in the summer.

A highly recommended day and we can’t wait to bring you to this experience!
