One of the most rewarding hikes in Sierra Calderona natural park, which combines hiking with local heritage and great views from the Serra castle. On top of that you’ll enjoy the sunset and the spectre of colours that it brings.
Itinerary
We will start the hike from the town of Serra and do the route to the IX century Moorish castle. You will learn the history of the area and also get to visit the remains of two of the three watchtowers that helped to monitor the area. The best part of the trip is getting to the Serra castle where we will make a stop to watch the sunset.
The route is quite easy, mostly on gravel roads, only the final short part of the ascent being on a rockier terrain. Total length is 8 kilometres with 200 meters elevation gain.
