Itinerary
Day 1: Santiago to Porto
Stop At: Porto, Porto, Porto District, Northern Portugal
We’ll drive to Porto from Santiago, arriving in the early morning, which will allow us to visit the main sites in Porto, Drive along the coastline and the riverside to reach the Cordoeira park, from where we’ll continue on foot to visit the landmarks of the city. Tower of the Clergymen, University square and the Carmo’s church, pass by the Lello’s bookstore, the avenue of the Allies with the city hall, Rua Santa Catarina and the Majestic Cafe, Sao Bento train station, the cathedral and the Luis I bridge.

Stop At: Vila Nova de Gaia, Vila Nova de Gaia, Porto District, Northern Portugal
We will cross the bridge to reach Vila Nova de Gaia, where all the famous port wine cellars are located, visiting one and tasting their wines, to then take a boat ride along the Douro river.

Stop At: Peso Da Regua, Peso Da Regua, Vila Real District, Northern Portugal
After a typical Portuguese lunch, we will leave Porto and head to the Douro Valley, through a scenic route stopping along the way to take pictures and to visit one of the Douro wineries to then go to our hotel located in Peso da Regua.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Pinhao, Pinhao, Vila Real District, Northern Portugal
Time allowing we will take a boat upriver that will let us enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the Douro river, to reach Pinhao to then go back to Peso da Regua by train where dinner will be waiting for us.

Day 2: Peso da Regua – Pinhao scenic route
Stop At: Pinhao, Pinhao, Vila Real District, Northern Portugal
Today we’re taking the breathtaking route N-322 heading to Pinhao and stopping in a couple of wineries located in spectacular locations that are an invitation to the senses.
Duration: 4 hours
Pass By: Vila Real, Vila Real, Vila Real District, Northern Portugal
After lunch, we will be leaving the Douro Valley and start heading back but in our way, we will stop at the Mateus Palace in Vila Real
Pass By: Valenca, Valenca, Viana do Castelo District, Northern Portugal
Just before we leave Portugal we will pass by Valença do Minho, with its Fortified walls, as we continue back to Santiago
