Our tour starts by heading towards Mercat de l´Olivar, however during the tour we will make different detours as we learn about the city, and as we enjoy small bites of typical products such as confectionary, local cold meats, digestif liqueurs… and a longer stop for a tapa and a drink!
Then we will walk by the old Jewish quarter, cobbled streets, stunning gothic patios while we learn how the locals live in this part of the city, and how the city´s history has influenced its gastronomy. The tour lasts 3 hours and we will be walking passing many interesting sights such as:
• the monumental area
• the municipal market where we will learn about the local vegetables and fish (note it opens from 9-14)
• the old fishermen area, nowadays a very popular tapas area and where we will learn about this culture.
As we continue on we will take a stroll through the Plaza Major as we make our way to discover more of this city full of History!
We will then head towards the “Casco Antiguo” – the monumental area where the maginificent Cathedral, old walls and Almudaina palace are.
