Itinerary

Day 1: ARRIVAL MALAGA – TORREMOLINOS/COSTA DEL SOL

After landing at Malaga Airport and taking the transfer to your hotel in Torremolinos / Costa del Sol, spend the rest of your first day in Andalusia exploring this new location at your leisure. Malaga is the largest coastal city in the south of Spain, and it is brimming with history, culture and local gastronomy. You can either venture out into the streets to start discovering the many delights it has to offer at your own pace or simply relax at the hotel while making the most of the available amenities.

Day 2: TORREMOLINOS/COSTA DEL SOL – RONDA – SEVILLE (230km – 3h)

Pass By: Silken Al-Andalus Palace, Av. de la Palmera, s/n, 41012 Sevilla, Spain
After breakfast at your hotel, depart towards Ronda. On arrival, admire the well-preserved ruins of five defensive walls testifying to Ronda’s turbulent past. Today, this history casts an enchanting spell over Ronda, retaining a beguiling timelessness in the maze of whitewashed cobbled alleys leading to the famous New Bridge over the 120-metre-deep El Tajo Gorge. Admire the Mudejar towers, Renaissance palaces and baroque churches during your visit. Discover the imposing Gothic-Renaissance Church of Santa Maria la Mayor, built in the 1480s by the Castilian conquerors on the site of the Moorish great mosque. Afterwards continue to Seville where you will check in at your hotel and spend the night.

Day 3: SEVILLE

Wake up to breakfast at the hotel before stepping out into the streets of Seville, capital of Andalusia and one of Spain’s most renowned cities for its authentic Spanish atmosphere and impressive architecture. Set eye upon all of Seville’s most important sites with a panoramic tour of the city. The tour includes a fun photo stop at the magical Maria Luisa Park, a large lush green space large enough to contain two impressive squares, both of which you will visit. The first one is Plaza de España, and it boasts beautiful ornate tiles, elaborate redbrick towers, bridges and canals. The second square is the Plaza de America, which is flanked by a number of magnificent neo-Gothic and neo-Mudejar palaces. After the tour, the rest of the day is free for you to continue discovering all the things that make Seville special at your own leisure.

Day 4: SEVILLA – CORDOBA – GRANADA (320Km – 4hrs)

Say goodbye to Seville after breakfast at the hotel and depart for your next destination: Cordoba. Upon arrival, enjoy some free time to become acquainted with the city at your own pace. This romantic location is known for having been a shining example of coexistence during mediaeval times, when it was home to Christians, Muslims and Jews who all lived side by side in peace. Cordoba was also the capital of the Moorish caliphate of Al-Andalus during the height of its powers and glory, and nowhere is this wealth more evident than in the magnificent Mezquita (‘Great Mosque’), which is now a Catholic cathedral. Wander through the colonnaded prayer halls, which are decorated with hundreds of marble columns joined by two-tone arches. Admire the mihrab and the side chapels, with their eclectic mix of arabesque and baroque styles, and stroll through the Patio of the Orange Trees, an oasis of peace cooled by the shade of 100 trees. Afterwards, continue to Granada, where you will check in and spend the night.

Day 5: GRANADA

Eat up your breakfast at the hotel before exploring the historical city of Granada while snapping photographs of its greatest treasures. Your day begins with some free time during which you make the rules and design the itinerary for exploring the glorious former capital of the last Muslim state in Spain. Granada still boasts traces of its Moorish past, the most notable one being the stunning Alhambra palace. Then again, the winding streets of the Albaicin Quarter are also a quaint reminder of the days of the emirate, and today you will get to explore this mesmerising neighbourhood and learn all about its fascinating history. Lastly, discover the Corral del Carbon, the only caravanserai remaining in Spain.

Day 6: GRANADA – NERJA – TORREMOLINOS /COSTA DEL SOL (230km – 3h)

After breakfast at the hotel depart to Nerja, a small fishing and agricultural village in Málaga. It is the last town, East of Málaga and its unique mix of sea and mountain makes Nerja a very special charming place. Admire the breath-taking views of the “Balcón de Europa”, a balcony above a cliff that looks over the sea. Stroll through the white-washed houses and pebbled streets. Enjoy the village on your own and have lunch in one of its multiple restaurants. Having eaten, continue towards your hotel in Torremolinos, back to where your adventure originally started.

Day 7: TORREMOLINOS/COSTA DEL SOL

Or why not have the best of both worlds: rest in the morning – and why not even enjoy a siesta after lunch? – before heading out in the afternoon to relish the surprising south of Spain in the manner that suits you best.

Day 8: TORREMOLINOS / COSTA DEL SOL – MADRID (3 hrs by train)

Stop At: Sercotel Gran Hotel Conde Duque, Pl. del Conde del Valle de Súchil, 5, 28015 Madrid, Spain
Savor a delicious breakfast at the hotel and at the indicated time, transfer to the train station of Malaga to take the high-speed train (AVE) direction to Madrid (train tickets not included. In case you want to book them with us; the tickets will be delivered by the guide accompanied a few days before departure to Madrid). Once at the “Puerta de Atocha” train station, you will find the driver with a sign with their names where you will be transferred to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Hit the streets and start exploring the many activities on offer in this vibrant city: visit a museum, enjoy a drink and some tapas in one of the many bars, or take the opportunity to soak up the atmosphere in one of the many bustling squares or parks. In the evening, ask the hotel reception to recommend a good local restaurant for dinner so you can begin to discover Madrid’s renowned gastronomy before retiring to your room for the night.

Day 9: MADRID: HIGHLIGHTS TOUR

Stop At: Sercotel Gran Hotel Conde Duque, Pl. del Conde del Valle de Súchil, 5, 28015 Madrid, Spain
Wake up to breakfast at the hotel before heading out to start your 3-hour tour of Madrid. The coach will leave at 9:00 from Calle San Nicolás, 15, next to Plaza Los Ramales. You will first be taken to see the Plaza de Oriente and the Debod Temple, where we will stop to enjoy a walk and take some pictures. After this visit, return to the coach and head to the Plaza Mayor for a second stop to visit the Plaza de Villa and the iconic Puerta del Sol. The coach then continues on the rest of the tour, driving by Carrera de San Jerónimo Street, Las Cortes (the Spanish Parliament), Neptuno’s Square (a famous artistic fountain), the Paseo Del Prado (an avenue containing the Thyssen, Prado and Reina Sofía Museums), the Atocha Railway Station, the Royal Botanic Gardens, Cibeles Square (which has another renowned fountain), Alcalá Street, Alcalá’s Gate, the Las Ventas Bullring, the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium (Home of the Real Madrid CF), Paseo de la Castellana Street, Columbus Square, the National Library, Gran Vía, Plaza de España and, lastly, Plaza de Oriente, where the tour comes to an end. Weather permitting, and always alongside your guide, the bus will make three stops throughout the trip: the aforementioned stops at the Plaza Mayor and the Debod Temple, as well as a third one at the Las Ventas Bullring. After the tour, the rest of the day is free for you to spend at leisure and make your way back to the hotel at whichever time suits you best.

Day 10: MADRID

Wake up to breakfast at the hotel and prepare for a day at your leisure in the capital of Spain. There are a wealth of cultural attractions on offer in the city, ranging from architecture, art, culture, or simply enjoying the delicious local cuisine on offer in the cities markets, bars and restaurants. One of the unmissable attractions in the city is, of course, the Prado Museum (entrance not included). The Prado houses one of the finest collections of European art, with masterpieces by artists such as Velazquez, Goya and El Greco. Another must-see sight is El Retiro Park, a green oasis in the heart of the city covering over 125 hectares and comprising more than 15,000 trees. The park is a popular spot for tourists and locals alike and is home to a large artificial lake where you can hire a rowing boat. Round off your afternoon with a drink in Plaza Mayor, a huge square in the centre of the city which offers a combination of grand architecture and vibrant street entertainment.

Day 11: DEPARTURE MADRID

After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy your final day in Spain’s most celebrated tourist destination by visiting museums or galleries, purchasing souvenirs to remind you of your trip, or simply strolling through the city’s historic, bustling streets and stopping to enjoy a selection of tapas for one last time. Later in the day, you will be collected from your hotel at an appropriate time for your flight and transferred to the airport for your return or onward journey. Although this is the last day of your tour with us, we are sure the Madrid will have left a lasting impression on you, especially the food and drink!
