Visit Cuenca and a Vineyard in Spanish Tuscany

Take part in a different experience. This is not the typical tour but we will be a maximum of 6 people walking through Cuenca and enjoying a wine tasting in a private winery.

Cuenca is a gem not explored by international tourists. There we will discover its historical treasures, medieval architecture and stunning nature.

We will visit the Cathedral of St. Mary and St. Julian, a Gothic gem full of history. We will see the iconic Hanging Houses, suspended over the Huecar River. We will cross St. Paul’s Bridge for panoramic views and have lunch in a typical restaurant with regional flavors.

Then we will stop at the Devil’s Window, a natural viewpoint with spectacular views. The day will culminate at the Enrique Moreno Wineries, where we will enjoy a guided wine tasting, with the secrets of its elaboration and the local wine passion. An experience to live the essence of Cuenca in its history, landscapes and culture.

We will meet at the O’Donnell Gate to leave for Cuenca.

Upon arriving in the magical UNESCO World Heritage city of Cuenca, we will begin our dive with a tour of its viewpoints. From there, we can admire how the Arabs built this city in the middle of the gorges of the Huecar River, between imposing rock walls and houses that seem suspended in the air. We will stroll through its cobblestone alleys and climb its steep hills, delving into the secrets of this unique city. Along the way, we will share its history, fascinated by the impressive medieval architecture and its Muslim roots.

Then we will pause so that you can eat quietly and without hurry in a local restaurant, as we assure them that in our adventure the idea is that you can enjoy, relax and appreciate Cuenca to the rhythm of our small group.

After lunch we will head to a viewpoint where we can appreciate the natural beauty of the Castile-La Mancha region. There we can appreciate the fauna of the region and the wonderful views of the surroundings.

Before embarking on our return, we will visit a local vineyard staffed personally by its owner. There he will explain the process of making his wines, while enjoying a sunset tasting, surrounded by fields that evoke the essence of the so-called “Spanish Tuscany”.

Return to O’Donnell’s Gate, Retreat Park.
