You’ll start your morning off at a century-old bakery with a cup of thick Spanish hot chocolate, as well as coffee or tea, and a sweet treat.

Pass by this traditional local market which has been revamped into a favorite hang out for food and drinks.

We’ll sneak you into one of Madrid’s oldest kitchens specialized in making the city’s famous stew. This dish is a Madrid essential and this restaurant, open since 1870, is known across the country as preparing one of the best in town.

Move over paella—at the next stop you’ll taste Spain’s true national dish, tortilla de patatas or Spanish omelet, paired with one of Spain’s oldest and most misunderstood wines.

Finally, we’ll clue you in on some local knowledge: Madrid’s signature sandwich is made with fried calamari!
