In 1988, this sculpture appeared in the park, donated by the sculptor Enrique Salamanca, who has others distributed in different parts of the city, and in this case created a work designed for the park landscape.
This monument (1965) was the initiative of Professor José María Torroja, who, at the Geography colloquium held in Zaragoza in 1943, proposed creating a board in honor of the teacher’s figure, with the aim of erecting a monument.
As a curiosity, with the patronage accepted by General Franco, his grandson Francisco Franco Martínez Bordiú was allowed to represent Spanish children and pose as a model for the child figure.
