Work of Antonio Gaudi. Who already is a brand of Catalonia. He made this house for Josep Batlló y Casanovas, successful businessman of that period.
The building what now look like a dragon was reformed by Gaudi in 1906. And it´s open for visits just from 1995.

The Bone of Contention. Casa Batlio is forming part of this street with a different buildings made in modernist style. It consist of Casa Amatller (Josep Puig i Cadafalch, he was a main architect of Barcelona in the beginning of XX century), Casa Lleó Morera (Lluís Domènech i Montaner, he was a teacher of Gaudí), Casa Mulleras (Enric Sagnier), Casa Josefina Bonet (Marcel-li Coquillat).

Also Gaudi artwork. Barcelona citizens was very unhappy when it was in the process of construction, they were saying that it´s ugly. But now not just local people, visitors from all over the world come to see it. Every year this building have about 1 million of guests.

Jacint Verdaguer was called “Prince of Catalan poets”. He was one of the most important figures in Catalan literature and culture. This monument was finished in 1924. The ceremony speech was in Spanish so followers of Verdaguer ignored the opening.

Sagrada Familia provides us with the greatest idea of what Gaudi wanted to build for God. And still to this day, the people and government of Catalonia support his intent. Last news say that it will be finished in 2026.
The idea to build this cathedral comes from Josep Maria Bocabella i Verdaguer, who had a religious books store. And Gaudi was not the firs architect of the project.
When the building will be finished it will have 3 facades, 18 towers full of allegory of bible stories.
