Enjoy a relaxing day from Barcelona discovering the beautiful wine region of Penedés. You’ll enjoy high quality wines, cavas and local gastronomy as well as have the opportunity to explore a charming medieval village during a very special day spent outside of the city.

– Enjoy 2 excellent wineries accompanied by an English-speaking local host – The first visit is a tour which highlights a family-owned wine and cava producer that still utilizes the same centuries-old techniques to produce their vast array of ecological award-wining varietals. Our second visit is at a local winery which has been run by the same family for generations and specializes in small-production cava.

– Explore the quaint medieval village of Castellet i la Gornal where you’ll enjoy the beautiful architecture and river views

From Barcelona, we will take a leisurely drive through the Penedes countryside, with its over 300 bodegas and nearly 50,000 acres of vineyards. Tucked between the mountains of Montserrat and the Mediterranean Sea, Penedes is known not only for its cavas and wines, but also for its rolling landscapes that surround churches, castles and medieval villages.

Our first stop of the day is a visit and tasting at a picturesque cozy winery that specializes in ecological wines and cavas (a type of sparkling wine). We will get a first hand look at how the family-run winery (for 4 generations!) produces their award-winning varietals and end the visit enjoying the views from their outdoor patio overlooking the beautiful vineyards.

After this visit, we will continue to a wonderful restaurant with incredible views of Montserrat and the Penedes region for a lunch consisting of a variety of typical Catalan dishes and Penedes wines and cavas.

After lunch, we will then head on to our second winery of the day which has been run by the same family for generations and specializes in small-production cava.

After our second winery visit, we will continue on to a small medieval village where you can feel free to roam the cobblestoned streets and enjoy the views of the river and castle before our return to Barcelona.
