The Basilica of Montserrat is a must see in this spectacular cultural and natural monument. The Basilica, integrated into the mountain, offers refuge to thousands of pilgrims every year, with almost 1000 years of history.

The Montserrat Museum (MDM) contains one of the most important art collections in the country. It includes works by Caravaggio, Greco, Rusiñol, Casas, Picasso, Dalí, Monet, etc., and an important collection of archeology from the ancient world, with archaeological materials from the Near East (ancient Persia, Mesopotamia, Egypt, the Holy Land…) . Temporary exhibitions are added to the permanent collections. The MDM was declared a museum of national interest in 2006.

We will visit the Holy Cave, where the legend says that some shepherds found the Virgin, the current Virgen de la Moreneta
