One of his masterpieces, designed by Antoni Gaudí. The local name for the building is Casa dels ossos (House of Bones), as it has a visceral, skeletal organic quality. Like everything Gaudí designed, Casa Batlló is only identifiable as Modernisme or Art Nouveau in the broadest sense.

A totally unusual façade for this last civil work of Antoni Gaudí, La Casa Milà, nicknamed La Pedrera ( the quarry), in part because the cliffs near Barcelona were the inspiration of the great architect but also because of the appearance of the wavy facade of the building. In fact, the building does not have a single straight line, the façade is designed in such a way that it is impossible to draw a vertical line from the roof to the ground

The Poble Espanyol (literally, Spanish town) is an open-air architectural museum in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, approximately 400 metres away from the Fountains of Montjuïc. Built for the 1929 Barcelona International Exposition, the museum consists of 117 full-scale buildings replicated from different places in the Iberian Peninsula, joined together forming a small town recreating urban atmospheres of disparate places in Spain.

The Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya (MNAC) is housed in the Palau Nacional, a Neo-Baroque palace. The Palau was originally the Spanish Pavilion at the World Fair of 1929. After extensive renovation work it was reopened in 1997. Overall, the museum exhibits more than 260,000 works of art and is therefore the largest and most important museum in Barcelona.

This lively square is the heart of Barcelona and it’s beating strongly. A favourite meeting point, it’s also the geographical space that separates the districts of Ciutat Vella and the Eixample. Steeped in history, the Plaça de Catalunya is the nerve centre of the Catalan capital.

In 1888 Barcelona hosted the Universal Exhibition. The Arc de Triomf was built as the gateway to the fair which was held in the Parc de la Ciutadella.
