Dedicated to Eulalia of Barcelona, co-patron saint of Barcelona, you will visit the Cathedral of Barcelona. Constructed between the 13th and 15th centuries in Gothic style, it is a very famous landmark which is sure to delight you.
Located in the Gothic quarter, you will visit the Temple of Augustus, a Roman Temple built during the Imperial period. Here, you will see the three remaining columns which are the ruins of the demolished temple.
Walk through the heart of the Gothic quarter by visiting the Plaça San Jaume. Here, you will see buildings of administrative and historical importance such as the historic Palace of the Government of Catalonia and the City Hall of Barcelona.
Picture yourself at the Pont del Bisbe. Designed by the architect Joan Rubió I Bellver, the carvings under the bridge display a skull and dagger. It is located between the Plaça de Sant Jaume and Plaça Nova.
You will see the Palau Reial Major (Grand Royal palace). The complex houses historical buildings and is located at Plaça del Rei
Visit the Casa de l’Ardiaca, a Gothic palace which adjoins the old Roman wall. It was built in the 16th century and is located on the site of a historical building dating back to the 12th century.
You will then see the Chapel of Santa Àgata. Built during the early 14th century, here, you will see the work of the sculptor Joan Claperós which display angels and the arms of Aragon and Sicily designed across sixty earth floor tiles.
Designated as a minor basilica in 1948, you will see the Gothic church known as the Basilica of Saints Justus and Pastor. It was built and designed over more than 200 years from 1342 to 1574.
Walk through the Sant Felip Neri Square which is located in the district of Ciutat Vella. Here, you can still see the markings of the bombings of the Spanish civil war in 1938 which resulted in many civilian casualties at this site, mainly of school children.
Admire the beautiful facade of the Basilica de Santa Maria del Pi. The church is said to have been built during 1319 and 1391. It is built in Romanesque style and is dedicated to the Blessed Lady of the Pine Tree.
Finally you will be visiting the Placa de Sant Josep Oriol where you will get to see old streets and alleys. You will finish your tour at the Call de Barcelona (the Jewish Quarter Barcelona)
